on the cabbage soup diet, id like to know what purpose the brown rice on the 7th day is toward the weight loss

Posted by admin on September 30th, 2009 and filed under brown fat weight loss | 1 Comment »

the cabbage soup diet is almost zero in fat & carbs on days 1,2,3, then with a lot of carbs on day 4 being in the bananas , then on the last day its loaded with carbs with the brown rice, and last on days 5,6, it calls for all the beef you can eat,,that being high in fat, I see how this is put together but does anyone know if it has a metobolic mixture to "work" or is it just that the extremely low calorie days serves the purpose. The thought of "stuffing myself " on the rice day, and having 3 steaks on the protein day is kinda scary, since large amounts of fat & carbs are involved, but it seems to work for me when some other dies havent? what is the secret of it working,?

id like that diet if it works for you

Can you have grits in phase one of Dr. Ian’s fat smash diet?

Posted by admin on September 30th, 2009 and filed under brown fat diet | 1 Comment »

I know that I am allowed one cup of oatmeal per day and one cup of brown rice or farina…so I was curious as to whether or not grits are allowed. I don’t want to mess up and cheat.

Thanks!

I don’t think so, but you can have oatmeal, brown rice, and low fat yogurt along with the fruits and vegetables in phase one. Its a good diet, it works if you committ to it, and think of it as a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

What Can I Add To My Diet For Variation But Still Remain Healthy For Weight Loss/Body Fat Reduction?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under brown fat weight loss | 6 Comments »

I’m currently 5 foot 10 and weigh 11 stone, 50, my body fat % according to my salter scales is 16% (i was previously 12 stone)
ideally i’d like to get down to 10 stone 50/ with body fat of around 10% where im more likely to see my 6 pack coming through

I use the treadmill once a day for 30 minutes, varying inclines
My current diet is two slices of brown bread, no butter with two slices of ham with either a cup of tea/orange juice.

i’ve been looking at the eat well plate and i’d like to vary my diet
http://www.food.gov.uk/images/pagefurnit…

can i have a boiled egg with some brown bread in the morning
a baked potato and some heinz beans for dinner

look forward to hearing your suggestions
so the brown bread is going to slow the progress of the flat stomach?

There are many foods that will aid your body in burning fat. The good news is that this foods come in a variety of forms and flavours. This means you can create a healthy eating plan that builds muscle, burns fat and best of all is easy to stick to.

To see a list of foods that will help you to burn fat then follow the link below.

Good luck and all the best with your weight loss goals.

Is this a good low-fat diet?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under brown fat diet | 1 Comment »

For breakfast – 2 slices of brown bread with one egg in the middle.
For lunch – One slice of brown bread with only low fat butter.
Then for a snack a piece of fruit, usually a banana, an apple or a kiwi.
And for dinner – a potato dish, some vegetables and white meat. Nothing deep fried.
I will drink only water, and lots of it.
For exercise I will do 3 sets of 25 situps everyday.

For the record, I’m not that fat. My body-mass index is near perfect, but I’m built pretty slim (don’t have a lot of muscle) and so I get some leeway on the body mass index in terms of fat. I know I can keep this up because I was very poor growing up and I ate with very little variation and I didn’t eat very much (thanksfully it didn’t stunt my growth).

Oh one more thing, tea is very low fat right? The same as water? If that’s the case I might have one cup every day.
Is honey a good sugar substitute?

Eat more! Thats not good nutrition for anyone. You could eat double that and still not gain any weight. You should also increase your exercise in order to gain more muscle mass and speed up your metabolism. Yes tea is the same as water as long as you sweeten it with a sugar substitute and not real sugar.

how does this diet sound for weight loss?

Posted by admin on September 28th, 2009 and filed under brown fat weight loss | 6 Comments »

instant oatmeal maple and brown sugar 3 meals a day.
ill give you the breakdown of nutrition facts for this.
calories 160 each packet- calories from fat 15
total fat 1.5- 2 percent
not saturated or trans fat 0
33 carbs- is that bad?
dietary fiber 3 grams
sugars 13 g

i know this is extreme but if i eat this 3 meals a day do cardio 7 days a week for an hour and a half each day will i see weight loss?
the packet is 43grams by the way.

Although outmeal is healthy, eating nothing BUT oatmeal is very unhealthy.

Try regular oatmeal (not instant with the flavours, thats a lot of sugar!) and put a bit of honey into it or something. And eat that for BREAKFAST.

For lunch, and dinner have different meals, preferably with some vegetables and fruit.

Fat Smash Diet–trying it out?

Posted by admin on September 28th, 2009 and filed under brown fat diet | 2 Comments »

I am trying the Fat Smash Diet with my husband. We are on day #5 of the first (detox) phase. I am 23 yrs old, weighed 179 (when we started), and am 5′9" tall.
I am using mypyramidtracker.gov to calculate my calorie intake and other nutrients (sodium, cholesterol, sat. fat, fiber etc).
On the celebrityfitclub site, my BMI is 26, when it should be at 24, and my recommended caloric intake a day is 1600. Here is an example of my food intake for 1 day:
2 cups sliced strawberries
1.5 cups cooked oatmeal
.5 cup skim milk
1 can sweet corn
1 banana
2 cups canned pinto beans (no fat)
2 cups cooked brown rice
.5 orange bell pepper
2 cups sweet peas (canned)
1 tangelo

For my physical activity, I have been slacking, but today we played tennis for an hour.
MY QUESTION IS, (sorry it took this long to ask it) whether or not this caloric intake will shed some real pounds, without working out everyday? Are there any suggestions? advice about the next phases of the fat smash diet?
thanks DN..i guess those pinto beans (the only thing i really enjoy eating..) are pretty bad even though they have so much fiber and no fat eh? Well, I will definitely keep that in mind.

Why does this diet stuff feel like I am being targeted by the devil personally and deprived of such a good indulgence!? lol. Thanks though- I should be sacrificing more.

I’m using Dr. Ian’s "Extreme Smash Fat Diet" book. I started the program 2 weeks ago & I’ve lost 5 pounds & can feel a difference in the way my jeans fit (much looser!).

The example of food you have posted looks good. However, some places where you list 2 cups, my book says only to have 1 cup. And I’m not supposed to have bananas, pineapple or watermelon right now (something to do with the glycemic index).

I have been doing cardio for at least 1 hour per session, 4 days a week. I was fairly inactive before I started the diet. I really think the exercise has been key for me in losing the weight. So, in my opinion, you may want to consider more physical activity in addition to portion control in order to see real results fast.
